Description

Silver moonstone ring, size 13, with an oval stone measuring 15 × 10 mm. In the photos, it shows muted pink, lilac tones, and a light blue glow. I set it in a silver frame with pointed ends and large open spaces on the sides.

I like this contrast. The stone has soft colors and a rounded shape, while the silver surrounding it is more raw and angular. In the center of the oval, you can see fine lines and layers that become more distinct when held up to the light. As you move your hand, a bright glow appears in different places.

Pointed, openwork frame

Above and below the stone, the silver forms two pointed ends. I left large, open spaces on the sides, giving the entire setting a diamond-like shape. The skin is visible through the cutouts, so the entire design is clearly visible on the hand.

The stone is held in place by four silver prongs. Their polished tips extend beyond the oval on both sides and stand out clearly against the darker recesses. Each one has a slightly different shape, just like the other details of the setting.

I left the edges uneven, with small bumps and nooks and crannies. Thanks to them, the silver catches the light in several places at once. The piece has a slightly Gothic feel, but the light-colored stone adds a touch of softness. It’s also worth looking at the ring from the side to see how the sides meet the band.

How does it look on the hand?

The stone itself measures 15 × 10 mm, but the setting extends beyond it in all four directions. That’s why the ring takes up more space on the finger than the oval’s dimensions would suggest. The photos of it on the hand best show the proportions of the entire design.

You can wear this size 13 silver moonstone ring on its own or pair it with simple silver wedding bands. I like it best on its own, when nothing covers the open sides. The light-colored stone stands out more against black, while its colors look more subdued with cream and gray outfits.

The sheen depends on the light and the viewing angle. The blue and lilac highlights won’t be visible in every setting, and the stone’s hues may look different in daylight and under artificial light.
