This silver labradorite ring was created from scratch in my workshop. First, I shaped it in wax, building the form directly around the stone. My goal was for the setting not to be accidental or ‘glued on,’ but to naturally flow from the stone’s shape. Later, I meticulously finished the silver by hand – I polished the surface, smoothed details, modeled the prongs, and refined the entire piece until the form looked cohesive.
The central element is a natural labradorite measuring 30 × 10 mm. It has an elongated, marquise shape and very distinct labradorization. In one light, it appears cool, plum-violet; in another, a warm, coppery flash emerges. As your hand moves, the stone changes fluidly – the color is not uniform, revealing natural lines, internal transitions, and the characteristic structure of labradorite. This very non-uniformity makes each piece unique.
The setting has a slightly organic, irregular character. The prongs are distinct and strong, but they don’t overpower the stone. The silver gently contrasts with the intense color of the stone, highlighting its pattern.
This ring is expressive yet not heavy in appearance. It sits well on the finger and, despite the larger stone, remains stable and comfortable to wear. It works perfectly as an everyday, distinctive accent or as a bolder element in a styling where the rest of the jewelry remains minimalist.
One of a kind, it won’t be identically replicated.
