Silver necklace with labradorite with purple glow

This necklace attracts attention with its intense purple glow hidden in the stone. Labradorite has a slender, elongated shape and under the right angle of light shows deep shades of plum purple, garnet and cool blue. With each movement, the reflections move across its surface, so the stone looks different depending on the lighting.

Labradorite is known for a characteristic optical phenomenon called labradorescence. It features thin layers of minerals that reflect light and create luminous flashes beneath the stone’s surface. This piece is dominated by deep purple tones, which give the jewelry a more mysterious character.

Handmade setting in silver

I hand-framed the stone in sterling silver. The smooth, minimalist frame emphasizes its elongated shape and allows you to focus on the colors of the labradorite.

At the bottom of the pendant I hung a small silver feather. This small element introduces lightness and subtle movement when the necklace moves on the chain. This gives the whole piece a delicate, slightly ethereal character.

I finished the back of the pendant by hand and decorated it with a floral pattern, so the necklace remains refined from underneath as well.

Natural labradorite

Labradorite belongs to the feldspar group and is valued primarily for the unique play of light visible under the surface of the stone. Natural lines, small cracks or differences in color are typical features of this mineral and testify to its natural origin.

Each stone has its own arrangement of reflections, so no two identical specimens exist.

Sleek form

The stone measures approximately 25 × 9.5 mm. This makes the pendant distinct, but still visually light. The elongated shape sits well on the neckline and emphasizes the vertical line of the necklace.

I hung the necklace on a delicate sterling silver chain, which subtly complements the whole composition.

The jewelry was created by hand in my studio and exists only in one piece.
