I made the metal elements – including earwires and hoops – from surgical steel, which is non-allergenic and does not darken. This is a moisture-resistant material, so it will work even for people with sensitive skin. The earrings are about 31 mm in diameter, but despite their form they remain extremely light and comfortable.
