Ring with a Pink Tourmaline – Forest Flower quantity

Description

The “Forest Flower” ring with a pink tourmaline is centered around three stones: an intensely pink tourmaline and two moonstones. The tourmaline has a deep, raspberry color and a faceted cut that beautifully catches the light. The moonstones are more delicate—milky white, with pink and blue highlights.

I made the entire piece by hand from 925 sterling silver using the lost-wax casting method. First, I carved a mold out of jewelry wax; then I created a silver casting; and finally, I set the stones and finished all the details.

A ring with a pink tourmaline, inspired by nature

I wanted the frame to look a little as if it had grown around the stones. There are tiny twigs, buds, and an irregular texture here, which I deliberately didn’t smooth out to make it perfectly even.

At the center is a teardrop-shaped tourmaline, flanked by two moonstones. I really like this combination—a bold raspberry pink meets a much calmer glow that shifts with the light.

Pink tourmaline and moonstones

Pink tourmaline comes in many shades—from light pink to deep raspberry tones. This one definitely belongs to the latter group. Thanks to its faceting, it displays slightly different reflections with every movement of the hand.

The moonstones on either side provide a delicate backdrop. In the light, you can see milky, pink, and slightly bluish flashes within them.
