Ring with Moss Agate – Forest Portal

Description

The Moss Agate Ring – Forest Portal is centered around an unusual, geometrically cut agate in a deep green hue. Inside, you can see natural, irregular patterns and color transitions that remind me a bit of moss, shadows, and forest undergrowth.

I set the stone in 925 sterling silver. I crafted the entire ring by hand using the lost-wax casting method—first, I carved a mold out of jewelry wax, then created a silver casting, and finally set the agate and finished all the details.

A moss agate ring inspired by nature

Here, I wanted to preserve a lot of the raw, organic texture. The silver surrounds the stone with irregular lines reminiscent of branches and roots, while the sharp edges of the setting emphasize its geometric shape.

The agate has a dark, deep green color that, depending on the light, can appear almost black one moment and reveal lighter, slightly translucent sections the next. Thanks to its faceted cut, it also catches the light in a completely different way than a classic cabochon.

Natural moss agate

Moss agate is a variety of chalcedony distinguished by its characteristic inclusions resembling moss, twigs, or small forest landscapes. Every stone looks different, which is exactly why I like to use them as one-of-a-kind pieces.

In this ring, the stone takes center stage, and the silver setting was crafted precisely to fit its shape. So I won’t be making another identical piece—you’re buying exactly the ring you see in the photos.
