Silver Ring with Moonstone – Elara

Description

The Elara silver ring with a moonstone has a simpler, more fluid design. In the center, I set a large oval moonstone with a faceted surface. Depending on the light, the stone shifts from a delicate pink to a violet-blue glow.

I crafted the setting from 925 sterling silver using the lost-wax method. The silver wraps irregularly around the stone, and the four elongated prongs give the piece a slightly rougher character. Despite the large stone, the ring doesn’t look heavy on the hand.

Here, the faceting is what really makes the difference. The stone’s surface catches the light differently than smooth cabochons do, and as it moves, various reflections and geometric refractions appear on its surface.
