This sterling silver necklace with white shell and feather has a calm, natural feel. In the center is a bright stone made of mother-of-pearl, the inner layer of the shell. Its surface reflects light softly and subtly, so a delicate, pearly sheen appears.
Depending on the lighting, the stone may look more milky white or slightly creamy. The natural texture of the mother-of-pearl causes the light to diffuse into the center of the stone. As a result, the surface is never quite uniform and always shows subtle differences in luster.
Therefore, the silver necklace with a white shell and feather remains a piece of jewelry with a calm, natural aesthetic.
I hand-framed the shell in sterling silver. Around the stone is a decorative bezel of tiny silver beads. This detail emphasizes its shape and gives the whole piece a delicate texture.
On the sides of the pendant I placed small silver balls, which balance the composition. At the bottom is a small pendant in the form of a silver feather. This element adds lightness and subtle movement when the necklace moves on the chain.
I finished the back of the pendant by hand and decorated it with a delicate floral pattern. In this way, the jewelry remains refined on all sides.
A shell is the calcareous outer skeleton of mollusks. Inside it there is mother-of-pearl, a layer with a characteristic delicate luster. It is responsible for the subtle reflection of light.
The material used in this necklace is from the Pinctada Maxima species, known for its high quality mother of pearl. The stone has retained its natural texture and has not been touched up.
Therefore, each silver necklace with a white shell and feather has a slightly different surface drawing and remains a unique piece.
The stone measures about 12.4 × 12.4 mm, so the pendant is small and comfortable to wear. The light color of the shell goes well with silver and makes the necklace match both light and darker styles.
I hung it on a delicate sterling silver chain, which subtly accentuates the form of the pendant.
