Description

A silver ring with a moonstone, size 16, featuring a large teardrop-shaped stone and an irregular setting resembling twigs. In the photos, the stone displays delicate shades of pink, lilac tones, and a cool, blue glow. I framed it with darkened silver to make these bright colors stand out.

What I like about it is that it looks a little different with every movement of my hand. One moment, the stone’s bright surface catches your eye, and the next, a blue glow appears on it. Inside, you can also see fine lines and layers that you can examine up close. With a stone like this, it’s easy to forget why you were actually looking at your wrist in the first place.

Twigs and Dewdrops

A silver setting runs around the stone, and six irregular prongs overlap its surface. They remind me of twigs that cradle a droplet on both sides. Their polished tips catch the light and stand out against the darker recesses.

I added small silver beads to the top of the stone and along its rounded base. They look a bit like dewdrops. It’s these beads—and the stone’s cool glow—that inspired the name of this ring.

I left openwork gaps on the sides. The silver details continue onto the band, so the setting has a lot to offer when viewed from the side as well. Its uneven surface complements the delicate lines visible inside the stone.

How does it look on the hand?

The stone measures 23 × 14 mm, making this one of the models with a large, clearly visible teardrop shape. It sits along the finger, while the silver sides add width to the overall design. The photos on the hand best show its proportions.

You can wear this size 16 silver moonstone ring on its own or pair it with simple silver wedding bands. I like it on its own, when nothing covers the little beads and the openwork sides. The light-colored stone really stands out against black clothing, while it looks more subdued with cream and gray knitwear.
