899.00zł
A large moonstone with a blue sheen and darker patches. A silver setting with irregular cutouts inspired by lunar craters. Size PL 13 / approximately US 6.5.
I carefully pack the jewelry in a decorative box, making it ready to give as a gift right away.
Description
A silver ring with a moonstone, size 13, featuring a large, elongated teardrop and a setting inspired by the surface of the moon. I carved irregular notches into the sides of the silver to resemble craters. Inside the stone itself, you can see a blue glow, delicate rainbow reflections, and darker patches.
I like that this stone has so much to offer. Depending on how you hold your hand, it looks bright and almost glassy, and a moment later, a blue glow appears. Inside, you can see fine lines and layers. The darker areas add character and pair well with the darkened silver.
Moon-inspired setting
When designing this setting, I had lunar craters in mind. Their shapes appear in the irregular cutouts on the sides of the ring. They’re best seen in profile, so it’s worth checking out angled photos as well.
I left the surface uneven, with small indentations and protrusions. The darkened recesses emphasize their depth, while the polished edges reflect the light. So as you move your hand across it, both the stone’s luster and the appearance of the surrounding silver change.
Four silver prongs hold the drop in place, leaving its center exposed. They have an irregular shape and smooth, bright tips. A silver frame runs around the stone, connecting to the sides of the band. The whole piece has a slightly raw character, which I like with this bright glow.
How does it look on the hand?
The stone measures 24 × 12 mm, so it’s long and clearly visible. The teardrop shape follows the contour of the finger, and the silver sides add width to the ring. The photos of it on the hand best show the proportions of the entire design.
You can wear this size 13 silver moonstone ring on its own or pair it with simple silver wedding bands. I like it best on its own, when you can really see the stone and the cutouts on the sides. Against black clothing, the light-colored stone really stands out, while it looks more understated against grays and cream-colored knits.
The blue glow and rainbow-colored reflections depend on the light and the viewing angle. They won’t be visible in every setting. Sometimes the stone will show more light tones, while other times your attention will be drawn to darker areas or the blue glow at its base.
In the gallery, you’ll find several views of the same drop. It’s worth comparing them and taking a closer look at the silver as well. The lunar inspiration lies in the details here—details that are easy to overlook at first glance.
