Ring with a Faceted Moonstone – Lunaria quantity

Description

The Lunaria ring with a faceted moonstone is designed around a large stone that beautifully catches the light. One moment it appears milky and delicate, and the next, it reveals blue and purple reflections.

I made the entire piece from 925 sterling silver using the lost-wax casting method. First, I carved the mold by hand out of jewelry wax; then I created a silver casting; and finally, I set the stone and finished all the details.

Ring with a faceted moonstone

There are lots of textures, tiny leaves, and irregular lines around the stone. Nothing here is perfectly even or symmetrical—I wanted the setting to look a bit as if it had simply grown around the stone.

With every movement of the hand, the faceted moonstone catches the light a little differently. It has a delicate, slightly pinkish hue, but at the right angle, it reveals stronger blue and purple flashes.
