Elaris Silver Necklace – Labradorite

Description

I crafted the Elaris silver necklace with labradorite from 925 sterling silver. In the center, I set a natural labradorite with a deep, violet sheen. As the light changes, the stone becomes darker, and cool, blue reflections appear in places.

Below the main element, I’ve suspended a faceted teardrop of natural amethyst.

I surrounded the labradorite with irregular, openwork twigs. I darkened some of the silver with an oxide finish to bring out their shape and all the fine details more clearly.

The amethyst moves when worn and catches the light on its faceted surface. Its color blends well with the violet sheen of the labradorite, giving the entire necklace a unified, dark color scheme.

Elaris is one of the more dramatic necklaces in this collection. It has a bold design, but the openwork details keep it from looking too heavy.

Labradorite and amethyst are natural stones, so they may have visible lines, inclusions, and minor irregularities. I finish each piece by hand, so the texture and patina of the silver may vary slightly.
