Sylvara Silver Necklace – Labradorite

Description

I handcrafted this Sylvara silver necklace with labradorites from 925 sterling silver. In the center, I set a large natural labradorite with a blue-green sheen, and below it I hung a second, faceted stone.

The setting of the center stone is surrounded by irregular, openwork twigs. I darkened part of the silver with an oxidizing agent to better highlight their shape and all the fine details.

The lower drop moves when worn and catches the light at different angles. The labradorite in the stones can appear intensely blue in one light and more green or gold in another.

This is a larger, statement necklace that looks best when worn on its own. The chain is 42 cm long and includes an additional 3 cm extension.

Labradorites are natural stones, so they may have visible internal lines, inclusions, and minor irregularities. These are not flaws, but natural characteristics of the stone. I finish each piece by hand, so the texture and patina of the silver may vary slightly.
