Nyxara – Silver Crescent Moon Necklace with Moonstone

I crafted the Nyxara crescent moon silver necklace from 925 sterling silver. Its form was originally hand-carved in wax and then cast in silver. The surface of the crescent moon is irregular, full of indentations and fine details, which I further accentuated with an oxidized finish.

In the center, I set a natural, faceted moonstone. Depending on the angle of the light, the stone shifts from nearly transparent to blue, also revealing pink and purple reflections.

Nyxara is part of the Moon Whisper series, inspired by the moon, the light of night, and organic forms. Compared to Avelune, it has a more raw and distinctive form. The crescent’s arms are more heavily sculpted and end in sharp, irregular tips.

I wanted to preserve the traces of the hand-carving in the wax. The oxidized indentations contrast with the polished sections of silver and make the texture clearly visible even though the pendant is small.

The moonstone is a small, bright spot in the center of the darker silver. Its color changes with the light, so the necklace looks slightly different depending on the angle from which you view it.

The necklace is small and lightweight, so despite its intricately sculpted design, it’s also perfect for everyday wear. You can wear it on its own or pair it with other delicate chains.

I finish each piece by hand. Natural stones may vary in shade and intensity of their sheen, and there may be slight variations in the patina and texture of the silver.
