Silver ring with moonstone 12 – Prism Bloom

Description

This sterling silver ring with a moonstone looks a bit like a small piece of crystal pulled out of a fairy tale world. The stone shimmers in cool blues, purples and pinks, and its glow changes with every movement of the hand. Once it is milky and delicate, and a moment later it reflects light with an intense blue glow.

I made the ring by hand from sterling silver using the lost wax method. I first carve the mold in wax, and only then is the silver casting created. This gives each detail a more organic feel and doesn’t look perfectly even like machine-made jewelry. I like the rings to have a bit of rawness to them and look as if they were created somewhere between nature and an old artifact.

The moonstone measures 12.5 x 12.5 mm and has been polished into a geometric form that catches the light strongly. You can see fine textures and reflections in the center, so the stone is alive in any lighting. In natural light it looks more ethereal, while in the evening there are stronger blue flashes.

This is a single piece and exactly the ring from the photos will go to the new owner. I do not create two identical pieces, so each model has a little character of its own.
