Silver ring with moonstone 14.5 – Moonwake

Description

This sterling silver ring with a moonstone has something peaceful and a bit otherworldly about it. The long, slender stone resembles a fragment of light enclosed in a silver setting. When moving the hand, cool blue flashes, milky reflections and delicate shades of pink appear.

I made the ring by hand from sterling silver using the lost wax method. First I create a mold in wax, only later the silver casting is created. This gives each detail a more organic feel and makes it look a bit like something found in the woods or pulled out of an old casket.

The moonstone measures 22 x 8 mm and catches the light beautifully due to its elongated cut. The center shows natural textures and subtle color transitions. Once it looks more cool and hazy, and a moment later it glows with an intense blue.

The setting is slightly crude, with claw-like details and details resembling twigs or thorns. The whole piece is not perfectly symmetrical, and this is what gives it character. I like it when jewelry looks like a small artifact, not something mass-produced.

This is a single piece and the exact ring from the photos will go to the new owner.
