I handmade the silver ring with the moonstone “Moon Thorn” from sterling silver. It has an organic, slightly wild form inspired by twigs and thorns, so it looks a bit like a piece of a forest story enclosed in jewelry.
The centerpiece is a faceted moonstone measuring 22 x 8.7 mm. Depending on the light, it shows a cool blue glow, and at times also subtle pink reflections. As a result, the stone changes its character with almost every hand movement. Once it looks delicate and milky, and a moment later it attracts attention with an intense glow.
This sterling silver moonstone ring has a distinctive form, but still remains light and ethereal. You can wear it alone or combine it with other silver rings if you like more layered jewelry. In addition, the irregular setting emphasizes the natural character of the stone and makes the whole look more raw and organic.
The ring was created using the casting method. First I created a model from wax, then it was cast in silver, and finally I finished it by hand. As a result, each detail has its own texture and character. Importantly, it is a single piece, so there is no second identical model.
Moonstone has long been associated with intuition, tranquility and feminine energy. Its brilliance is reminiscent of moonlight, which is why it has appeared for years in jewelry inspired by nature and fantasy worlds.
